Rock band In Grenada were formed in Philadelphia in 2007 by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jesse Leyh after the demise of his previous group, Movable Type.
At first, the project consisted only of Leyh, working in his home studio, but by 2008 the band was playing out in configurations ranging from four to seven members. By the fall of 2009, In Grenada were recording their debut album, the performing lineup having solidified with Leyh joined by keyboard player J. Fernando Valls, bassist Dan DiFelice, and drummer Devin Carr. The group self-released that first album, Break, on September 28, 2010. ~ William Ruhlmann
