Los Angeles, CA-based Inesperado emerged in February 2002 after Mexican singer and "bajo sexto" player Marcos López from Monterrey, Nuevo León, decided to assembled his own outfit.
Accordionist Mario Aguilar, bassist Frank Mata, and drummer Genaro Valenzuela joined in to start recording their debut album, Aventurero, featuring six songs composed by the band's leading vocalist. ~ Drago Bonacich
