Unlike most of their simplicity-prizing stoner rock brethren, Boston, Massachusetts-based Ichabod show no compunction about pushing their fundamentals in that style into rarefied progressive rock territory, fusing space, psychedelic, doom, sludge, and other musical styles any way they see fit.
After forming in 1999, the group debuted a 2002 single, "Good Friday the 13th," before signing with Rootsucker Records and embarking on ever more ambitious albums, including Let the Bad Times Roll (2003), Reaching Empyrean (2005), and a concept record about the Mayan calendar's prediction for the end of the world, 2012 (issued in 2008). At the time of the latter's release, Ichabod consisted of singer Ken Mackay, guitarist Dave Iverson, bassist Greg Dellaria, and drummer Phil Mackay. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
