The Vancouver-based alternative CCM group Hokus Pick was formed in 1989 by singer/guitarist Russ Smith, guitarist Matt Pierrot, bassist Dave Strilchuk and drummer Rick Calhoun.
Debuting in 1992 with Pick It Up, a year later the quartet earned a Dove Award nomination for International Artist of the Year; Brothers with Different Mothers followed in 1994, and was honored as album of the year by the Canadian Christian Music Bulletin. After 1995's Bookaboom, Hokum Pick issued The B-Sides during the summer of 1997, followed a few months later by Snappy. ~ Jason Ankeny
