Rap artist Haych was first bitten by the rap bug when he was still in grade school.
Considered an oddity, Haych was an English school boy listening to the likes of Public Enemy, LL Cool J, and KRS One. After school he and his buddies would perform under the name Ruff, Rigid and Roar, and gained much respect from local fans and the music community. He then formed Microphone Strangers Inc. (M.S.I.) with some local friends. The group wound up performing the U.K. tour stops of Busta Rymes, Redman, Wu Tang, and Mobb Deep. The group was signed to Sony, but the deal eventually fell through, and, with spirits down, the group disbanded and went their separate ways. Two years later Haych returned to the U.K. rap scene with a seven-track, vinyl-only EP, The Debut. A year later he released the full-length album, Selah, on the U.K. label, Different Drummer. ~ Diana Potts
