He has been a Lambda Literary Award finalist twelve times (winning twice), won the Moonbeam Gold Medal for Excellence in Young Adult Mystery/Horror, is a finalist for the Shirley Jackson Award, and has been shortlisted for many other awards as well.

He has written three mysteries series: the Chanse MacLeod mysteries, the Scotty Bradley adventures, and the Paige Tourneur Missing Husband Series.

His stand alone novels, for young or new adults, include the award winning "Sleeping Angel," "Sorceress," "Sara," "Timothy," and the forthcoming "Lake Thirteen."
