Gorilla Tactics Music – The Record Label

As a record label, our goal is to release our own music when we think we’ve made something worth sharing. We follow a regular but relaxed release schedule as it really is all about the music, these things cannot be forced. With Gorilla Tactics we have no idea what the next track will evolve into until it’s finished and we create music that is dependent not on a specific genre or formula, but whatever mood we’re in at the time. Needless to say, as artists, we’re mostly from Breakbeat, Drum & Bass, Hip Hop and Reggae backgrounds so it heavily influences our music.

Gorilla Tactics Music owns and controls the masters, copyrights and licenses of its entire product. Where possible, all aspects of our products are produced in Western Australia by Western Australians with the exception of final mastering of all songs which is completed at Abbey Road Studios in London. This decision was purely personal as Scotty Assassin traces his love for music to the records his father bought him up on that were produced at this studio.

Gorilla Trooperz – Our New Sub-label

Our record label is also expanding, beginning with our new sub-label Gorilla Trooperz. This is in response to the growing amount of new emerging and highly talented artists we see today. With the internet, and places like SoundCloud and Facebook, we can find a wealth of great music that isn’t being noticed. Gorilla Trooperz is our effort to give unsigned artists with talent and potential a start in their music career.

Gorilla Tactics – The Music & Live Act

Gorilla Tactics is located in Perth, Australia. The group currently consists of MC/Vocalists Scotty Assassin, Stylee, Shonamaybe, our turntable killer DJ Dair and our massively talented guitarist Jay “El Waldro” although we regularly feature guest artists who already include: MC Bear, MC Webbz, Beth Alison, Toddy Freelove, Phat Joey, Stamina MC and Top Cat. In the studio we create music from Spoken Word to Hip Hop, Drum & Bass to House, and anything else that happens to leak out of our mind. As a live act our wish is to bring a live and fresh format to our respective roots genres both as a crew and as individual artists. For almost two decades the Electronic Music culture has revolved around DJs, and we love DJs, but we would rather perform our music to you ourselves. Gorilla Tactics, the live act, answers the growing demand for a live show with real people, performing lyrically rich electronic music.

Gorilla Hardware – The Nerd Stuff

Recently we featured our studio PC, Titan, on Facebook and YouTube. He’s quite a monster and we were quickly flooded with emails and Facebook messages asking about it’s technical specs, where we bought it or how we built it. The fact was we built it. Specifically and solely for making music. After a few people asking us to build them something like Titan turned into a lot of people asking, Gorilla Hardware was born. You can now order custom built systems through us specifically made to create music.
