Determined to grab his share of the musical pie, Fya Frenzi offers a refreshing approach to reggae music.
He is determined to follow the trail blazed by his musical heroes. Such artistes as Bob Marley, Bounty
Killa and Sizzla were important influences.
Born Horace Walker in the parish of St. Mary, Fya Frenzi at an early age had a burning desire to
pursue a career in music. He attended Unity primary and later Paisley all age. He obeyed his thirst for
music by playing records as a sound system DJ in the community of Lunafield in 1993. Unfortunately, his
mom died that same year and Fya Frenzi decided to relocate to Kingston where he resided with his aunt.
In 1999, Fya Frenzi met a group of upcoming singers and decided to develop his deejaying skills
which resulted in the formation of a group called “Tapanaris”. In 2007, he met and began recording for
producer Kevon Dixon for ‘Blue Sky production’ which released his first song entitled “bruk out”. The
second track recorded by Fya Frenzi was entitled “doing this thing” which enjoyed rotation on local radio
as well as Hot 97. “What’s the deal” was the third track recorded by Fya Frenzi and released by ‘Blue Sky
production’. He achieved modest success from his association with ‘Blue Sky production’. In 2010, he
hooked up with Vernom House records which gave him a career boost.
Currently, Fya Frenzi is a member of the “Living Sound band” which has given him the opportunity
to refine his craft by rehearsing with a live band. Fya Frenzi first overseas trip as a recording artist will
unfold later this year 2014 as plans are in placed to perform with the band at a number of concerts in
Trinidad. Fya Fenzi sees himself as conscious warrior who compose songs with a revolutionary spirit.
“My career has no boundary and I want to take it to the highest level possible”, he envisages.
