Born in 1970 FM studied classical DB at the regional conservatory of Boulogne Billancourt with Daniel Marillier, then he studied at the regional conservatory of La Roche-sur-Yon where he obtained a first prize, he also studied jazz at Centre d'Information des Activités Musicales of Bordeaux.
After years of touring as an eclectic interpreter, in Jazz, latin Jazz -salsa & Tango- , rock on electric bass, he settled down in Paris in 2007? and set his mind on improvisation.

In january 2009 he initiates his own project in free improvisation entitled “Empreintes irrégulières» “off track” where he touches upon instantaneity, the ephemeral and cyclical sensitivity.

Follows in 2009 a project "empreintes irrégulières" in collaboration with Yuko Oshima (drums & percussion) Ai Watanabe (lap top) et Birgitte Lyregaard (vocalist).

In April 2010 he organises a series of 16 concerts in Japan where he engages with numerous japanese improvisers.

He organises a series of concerts “Solo solo” featuring numerous improvisers ( Alexandre Bellenger, Stéphane Rive, Ugo Boscain, Pascal Marzan, Cyprien Busolini, Bertrand Denzler, Cathy Heyden, Itaru Oki…. ).

Frédéric Marty has collborated with Yuko Oshima, Ai Watanabe, Birgitte Lyregaard, Yoko Arai, Frédéric Blondy, Edward Perraud, Itaru Oki, Claude Parle, Xavier Lopez, Jean Bordé, Sébastien Bouhana, Marcos Fernandes, Alexandre Bellenger, Nush Werchowska, Nelly Jallerat, Patrick Charnois,Jean Luc Petit,Yoko Miura,and has worked with butou dancers Gyouhei Zaitsu, Maki Watanabe, Azusa Kurokawa.

Since 2012 he’s been a member of the orchestra directed by Frédéric Blondy the "ONCEIM".
