Florian Hierdeis was born in Augsburg (Germany) and started playing the guitar at the age of 10.
1990 he started having private lessons with Buddy Brudzinski in classical guitar. At the age of 18, he got in contact with Django Reinhardt's music via his guitar teacher and fell in love with Jazz.

In 1998 he started a 2 year program in germany and had lessons by Torsten de Winkel, Mini Schulz, Marcus Bodenseh and Stefan Barcsay a.o.

After this course of study he went on going for the 4 year bachelor-programat the “Conservatory of Amsterdam“where he had lessons from Maarten van der Grinten, Jesse van Ruller, Martijn van Iterson a.m.o. and followed masterclasses with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nelson Faria, Pat Martino, Mike Stern, just to name a few.

In2005 he graduated the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Since he moved to Amsterdam in 2000, Florian has been part of the jazz- and music-scene. He played on festivals or gigs in the Netherlands, Italy, Germany and Thailand.

Since 2008 he is teacher at the DJAM (www.djam.nl), a music-school for jazz and improvised music in Amsterdam and is giving regular guitar lessons at his home and at several private music-schools in North-Holland.
