After breaking up the industrial-rock group Submachine, frontman Nik Hodges went onto form his second hyper-driven rock piece, Flak.
He brought in former Submachine drummer Steve Clark and guitarist Chris Sutton along with newcomer Rich Crockford to play bass in hopes of creating a mixture sounds similar to Nine Inch Nails, Crystal Method, and Pop Will Eat Itself. Flak released its self-titled debut on Restless Records in mid-2000. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
