Consisting of singer/guitarist Mike Morris, keyboardist Wade Worthington, bassist Bill Gould, and drummer Mike Bordin, Faith No Man was the genesis of the group that would eventually become Faith No More.
Morris, whose nickname was "the Man," was the leader of the group and head songwriter. His Johnny Rotten-esque rantings worked well over their Cure/Public Image Ltd. style of songwriting, but internal tensions caused Worthington to leave the band. He was briefly replaced by Roddy Bottum, but when the new lineup realized they had much more talent without Morris' contributions, they quit the band. Humorously enough, they renamed themselves Faith No More, because "the Man" was no more. ~ Bradley Torreano
