Over the course of four albums and one EP released between 1989 and 1995, Germany's Erosion always seemed like reluctant thrashers whose hearts actually belonged to hardcore.
Led by vocalist Chris Zenk, guitarist Stefan Römhild, drummer Klaus Nowakowski, and supported by a Spinal Tap-sized parade of henchmen (including, at one time, Paragon bassist Jan Bünning and future Holy Moses guitarist Michael Hankel), it was perhaps this lack of focus that compromised the band's chances of success. By the release of 1995's swan song, Down, Daniel Geiger had stepped in for the departed Zenk, but not for long, as Erosion decided to break up a short time later. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
