"..
All music is folk music, I never heard no horses doin' it." - Big Bill Broonzy.

Since 2009, Erik E. Knudson, a.k.a. the Lightning Hall, has been a regular performer in the Albuquerque, NM area where he resides. A native of the West and South-Southwest, he grew up largely in the Gulf Coast city of Galveston, TX. where he acquired a taste for southern music, blues, southern rock, country, R&B... He sings, plays guitar and harmonica and early on acquired a love of acoustic blues music. He writes and performs original songs influenced by "folk blues" and other styles. FYI, Folk-blues is described (by allmusic) as "a type of blues usually played on non-electric musical instruments. It embraces a wide range of guitar and musical styles that thrived in the early days of the music style's gestation." He is currently working up and performing songs for a second CD of original music. This one with some songs that have a more "folk-Americana" sound, and a nod toward the Southwest's culture and music. He also performs the songs of traditional acoustic blues masters like Lightning Hopkins, Big Bill Broonzy and Muddy Waters and some more contemporary blues and blues-rock artists. He has been described as a "very compelling blues artist" and one with "impeccable guitar work and a soulful voice" by blues-biz insiders and local promoters.
