Elizabeth Tan is a cellist with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and co-founder of the KL String Project.
Before returning to her hometown of Kuala Lumpur in 2010, Elizabeth was a member of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and teaching assistant to Qin Li-Wei at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. She has performed with the Singapore Festival Orchestra as Principal Cellist and was a guest faculty member at the Singapore International String Conference.

As part of Yong Siew Toh Conservatory’s historic inaugural class, Elizabeth completed her bachelor’s degree and graduate performance diploma under Qin Li-Wei and Nella Hunkins, graduating with first class honours. Elizabeth was the winner of the 2007 HSBC Classics String Concerto Competition. Her solo appearances include concertos with the Penang Philharmonic Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, NUS Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Music Makers.
