Eddie Field's instrument is the electric violin, in the vein of Jean-Luc Ponty, Stephane Grappelli and Regina Carter.
He has developed his own unique style of playing that encompasses the best of his jazz, rock and classical background.

Eddie Field is a classically trained violinist with over 25 years experience in playing with jazz groups, symphony orchestras and rock bands. He studied for 2 and ½ years with world-renown violist, Milton Thomas, at the University of Southern California, where he received his degree. Blessed with a gifted ear and superb improvisatory skills, starting at age 15, he began performing, touring and recording violin with a wide variety of groups. The following is a list of some the many artists he has appeared with: Chick Corea & Stanley Clarke, Arthur Adams, Maxine Weldon, Barbara Morrison, Opera a La Carte, Michael Tilson Thomas, Malcolm Hamilton and PDQ Bach. He has also hired and played with members of Rod Stewart, Jethro Tull, Frank Zappa, Melissa Manchester, Billy Vera & The Beaters, Lou Rawls and many more.

He has performed regularly at Pasadena area venues such as Twin Palms, The Baked Potato, Holly Street Bar& Grill, Lucky Baldwin’s, Bean Town, Borders Books, and the Muse.

In the mid-1990’s, Eddie immersed himself in the busy L.A. theater pit-band circuit and performed over 250 nights in just three years. This work earned him praise in reviews by Variety, Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, The Los Angeles Times and Drama-Logue.
