A jazzy act plainly modeled after such British acts as the Soft Machine, Duello Madre formed in 1973, after guitarist Marco Zocchedu and bassist Bob Callero disbanded the Osage Tribe.
Completing the line-up with sax wizard Pippo Trentin and former Circus 2000 drummer Franco "Dede" Lo Previte, the band signed with Produttori Associati and cut their one and only album, Aquile blu. It was a well-received set, but the band was but a passing fancy for its membership. By 1975, Callero was a member of the supergroup Il Volo, while Lo Previte traveled to London where he joined sundry fellow ex-pats in the Pete Townshend-endorsed Nova. ~ Dave Thompson
