Prior to my Iridium engagement, I was nominated in the Male Vocalist category for the Mac Awards of 2012 for my show "Trail of Cheers", which as performed at the Metropolitan Room, The Laurie Beechman Theater, and at The Bitter End in NYC. I also appeared in cabaret venues and club scenes such as The Five Oaks, Limelight, Club Strata and, Bard’O. Prior to "In These Genes", I performed as Tommy Vee and released the CD "Liquid Life" represented by the track "Set Me Free" on this site. My music was featured at the historic Pyramid club in New York’s East Village. I has also debuted an original video and dance piece at SBNY in New York and performed at the Sound Factory for the 2003 La Cage Aux Faux New Year’s Eve party featuring legendary DJ Junior Vasquez. Recent accomplishments include being a back up singer for the CD release of "Latin Roots" by Lucie Arnaz which can be found on the LML Label - produced by Lucie Arnaz and Ron Abel.
I call this "my journey" because of my recent move to Nashville and the monumental life changing moments along the way. They became the reasons for my deep commitment and love of songwriting.
I moved to New York City from Cape Girardeau Missouri in the late 80' (I was but a mere child). I stayed in NY and have a tapestry of wonderful memories performing in National Tours, International Tour, the Cruise Industry, and corporate entertainment. I wrote music through it all. Now I'm in Nashville.
Along with challenging relationships (we've all felt the pangs of love now and then) I also fought and successfully beat Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and a heart attack. Now healthy as a horse, I'm in music, collaborating with writers, writing my own songs and breathing life every day. Peace, Love and Happiness. Dwight Thomas Vaughn
