Born in Paris to a Brazilian mother and a French father, MacManus grew up with influences of Latin and jazz music from an early age.
He discovered turntables in the studio of Generations 88.2fm (a famous Paris radio station) in 1997.His deep love for Garage & Soulful House came when an uncle from New York, who was an addict of the Paradise Garage, brought him to Club Shelter in 2001 where the legendary Timmy Regisford was performing.

When he returned home, MacManus became a regular of the underground house scene of Paris and began to perform in several bars and clubs like Bus Palladium, Concorde Atlantic, Wagg, Dirty Deal (Latvia) and in such New York clubs as Les Enfants Terrible and Joe’s Pub.

All these efforts eventually brought him to work at 12inch, the famous vinyl store of Paris where well-known French DJs such as DJ Deep, Frank Roger, i:Cube, and DJ Gregory would frequent along with other famous artists such as Quentin Harris, Kerri Chandler, Joe Clausell and DJ Spinna, all of whom would visit to hear some of best selections in deep house music. In 2008, MacManus launched the DANCE FACTORY PROJECT.
