TREVOR WARREN - GUITARS, VOICE, PERCUSSION

Trevor has been playing guitar since 1982, largely self taught, exploring rock, jazz, world and folk idioms, most recently in his award winning band Disassembler, and of course also Deva, created by him out of workshops in 1998, and whose music has been used for the BBC 1 documentaries Panorama and Real Story. He has worked with Kenyan singer songwriter Ayub Ogada and in 1997 played in a series of concerts with Indian percussion master Balachandar (Ravi Shankar). In 1994 he co-wrote and performed music for dance/theatre project Company Skin in the acclaimed production 'G is for Gorgeous' at the ICA and The Place Theatres in London. Taught jazz by John Etheridge and John Parricelli he also studied Harmony and Composition at Morley College in London. Latest other projects include Electric Sheep, a new group with ex- PIL drummer Richard Dudanski and a duo with Peruvian guitarist Aberlardo Oquendo.

CHRIS GARRICK - VIOLIN

Award-winning jazz violinist Chris Garrick graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 1994 with the DipRAM. He has appeared as soloist with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Nigel Kennedy, Bireli Lagrene, Dolly Parton, All About Eve, Simon Mulligan, Duffy, Van Morrison, Dame Cleo Laine and the late great Sir John Dankworth - Dankworth composed his jazz violin concerto especially for Chris. His performance at the Genius of the Violin Festival in 2004 led to an invitation to perform Astor Piazzolla's Seasons with Barry Wordsworth and the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall. Chris is also a busy session musician and his violin can be heard on many film soundtracks including The Imaginarium of Dr Parnasus, Chocolat, Brideshead Revisited, La Vie En Rose, Chicago, Borat, An Ideal Husband and Tomorrow Never Dies. He teaches jazz violin at the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music in London.

JONTY FISHER - BASS

After a childhood spent in Ghana, Zambia and the UK, Jonty moved to London to study music when he was 18. His career began in 1988 after performing at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as a finalist in the Barclays Youth Music Awards. Since then he has been a regular on the London music scene, playing at many of the UK’s premier events and venues and his time is punctuated by extensive world touring as well as film, radio, television and recording appearances. A long-standing member of the critically acclaimed world music group Deva, he also tours regularly with his own trio and quartet.
He has worked with many different artists, among them, Dave Gordon, Mark Lockheart, Liane Carroll, Jacqui Dankworth, Christian Garrick, Don Rendell, Frank Holder, Steve Brookstein, Anton Browne, Todd Gordon and Joe Stilgoe. Jonty is a prolific composer, his music appearing on numerous albums plus BBC and Channel 4 television. He studied composition, harmony and musical form with the great pianist and composer Ronald Francis Littlefield and gained a first class BA Honours at Trent Park in North London

NEIL CRAIG - TABLA, PERCUSSION

Neil is a freelance percussionist who specialises in tabla. He has performance-based degrees in both Western and Hindustani classical music. In past years, he toured extensively as an orchestral and avant-garde percussionist, and in 1994, he accepted an invitation to lecture in percussion in Malaysia. Neil has composed for a range of contexts, including music theatre, plays, festivals, book launches and fusion ensembles. He is currently promoting the trio padhanisa, along with sitarist Jonathan Mayer and guitarist Justin Quinn. In 1996, Neil moved to London from his home city Perth, Australia, to study under tabla guru Pandit Sharda Sahai.



PETER MACDONALD - DRUMS, PERCUSSION

Born in Sydney Australia Peter moved to London in 1988 and began studying with Mridungham master Balachandar. He has since won many accolades as well as accompanying Balachandar in his East/West concerts in 1997/8. He joined Deva in 1998 and has been touring and recording with them ever since. In 2005 Peter played with Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anoushka on the European leg of their world tour.
