Crucifixion was a Houston, TX-based death metal band (not to be confused with the earlier New Wave of British Heavy Metal band or the later German black metal act) formed in the early '90s, and featuring Daniel Martinez (vocals, bass), Mark Vargas (guitar), Armando Mata (guitar, keyboards), and Guillermo Cavazos (drums).
Their first demo, "A Cold Sea of Horror," emerged in 1991 and led to an immediate deal with independent Mausoleum Records, which issued their debut album, Desert of Shattered Hopes, in 1993. This met with extremely limited success, however, and it wasn't until five years later that a sophomore effort called Paths Less Taken was released. There have been no further official Crucifixion releases since. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
