He sings and writes his own music, plays tenor, alto saxophone, electronic wind instruments and harmonica.



Extremely versatile in many styles of American folk music, blues, country, soul and rock n roll.



Has now reinvented himself into the modern world playing EDM styles, progressive, deep house and

chill. He considers himself to be the inventor of Blues House music.



As Mr. Blues House he often plays the electronic wind instrument setting the standard for emulating the electric guitar, showing his love

forrock

or heavy metal mixed with jazz music.



His singing, with a majestic stage presence and a dark voice between Muddy Waters and Jimi Hendrix.



He plays Chicago style saxophone with a touch ofKing Curtis, Eddie Shaw, Clarence Clemons.



He played in The Luther Tucker Band backing artists such as Lowell Fulson, Percy Mayfield, Big Mama Thornton, Jimmy Dawkins...



He plays the harmonica in many styles such as James Cotton, Sonny Terry, Charley McCoy but still very much himself.

Derrick began playing with a band called the Soul Rebels with members from Pearl Harbor and the Explosions (1979), who were working for Bill Graham as a warm up

band in Bill's nightclubs. They fronted acts such as the Dead Kennedy's, The Ramones, Greg Kihn, The Beat and many others.

Performed in Broadway musical Big River, West Side Story and makes guests appearance inPanetoz Dansa Pausa music video, The Hives Go Right Ahead music video and the

J-Son Mr. Feelgood music video.



Touring with his band and pickup bands over the last years in Ukraine, England, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and most recently Thailand, Japan, and China.



As an EDM musician has played for Tallink Silja Serenade, Symphony, and Galaxy on the Baltic Sea. Spending approximately 600 days and nights at sea playing saxophone lounge with a DJ or as a stand-alone saxophone handling the DJ equipment and playing the saxophone himself. Putting the blues back into EDM with music from Prince, Sade, Bruno Mars mixed in with jazz standards and deep

house he pleases a very wide range of people on any ship or in any hotel.
