Davide Chiesa was born in Turin in 1990. He studied at the Hochschule fur Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where he graduated with distinction with Silvia Careddu. He studied contemporary music with Mario Caroli in Strasbourg, where he obtained as well a Master degree in Musicology at the Strasbourg University, with a dissertation on the flute music of Boulez and Sciarrino.

He has been a guest principalflautist with the Gurzenich Orchester Koln, Opernhaus Zurich, Opéra de Lyon,Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Teatro regio Turin, Philarmonique de Strasbourg. During his studies he has been principal flute of the Gustav Mahlerjugendorchester and the Schleswig Holstein Musikfestival Orchestra.

He regularly plays as soloist, chamber musician and in orchestra in Europe,China and Japan. He collaborated among others with, S. Rubino, Trio Debussy, A.Caiello, Quartetto Maurice, and composers P. Eötvös,G.Aperghis, R. Saunders, M. Azzan, C. Milliken, P. Marietan, G. Cosmi.

From 2014 to 2016 he has been a soloist at the FLAUTISSIMO festival in Rome. In 2009 he made his debut as soloist with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. He won severals prizes, like S.Gazzelloni competition 2011, Fondazione Live piemonte and Foerderverein Hanns Eisler.
