A side-project of Deftones singer Chino Moreno and Far guitarist Shaun Lopez, Crosses finds the two highly influential alt-metal icons joining forces in a project that focuses on the more soothing side of their respective groups.
With a more downbeat sound, Crosses sound emphasizes and isolates the ideas that made their bands stand apart from the rest of the pack, emphasizing mood and melody over raw aggression. In 2011, Moreno announced that the pair had finished a number of tracks and had plans to self-release them as a series of EPs with + (Crosses 1) appearing later that year, ++ (Crosses 2) arriving in 2012. Their first full-length effort, the self-titled †††, arrived on Sumerian Records in 2014. ~ Gregory Heaney
