Roommates shortly out of high school, Myers and Williams began writing music together as an outlet for creativity. After befriending Mills in early 2011, writing took a new course and the dream of playing music quickly became tangible. They recorded their first self-released EP in June 2011, and began playing as many shows as possible. Having a unique sound and high-energy live performance, it didn't take long to create buzz and gain recognition.

With the debut of their first self-released full length album in Nov. 2012, Claymore Disco made several festival appearances and began selling out venues in their hometown. Frees joined in late 2013 when the band took a break to write for an upcoming EP. The single "Light Ahead of Me" was released Dec. 3, 2013.
