British downtempo act Chin Chin blends together acoustic instruments (guitar, piano, strings, xylophone) and electronic music production, creating a laid-back style of music that is dubby and beat-driven yet soothing and ambient.
Based in Leicester, England, and stylistically reminiscent of fellow British downtempo acts such as Four Tet and the Cinematic Orchestra, Chin Chin is a trio comprised of Frankie Binns, Teresa Connelly, and Chris Cousin. They made their recording debut in 2004 on Cousin's Deep-Water label with the 2ft Deep Ponds EP. Their full-length debut album, Shallow Dive, followed on Deep-Water in 2005. ~ Jason Birchmeier
