Chen Wagner's music is inspired by psychoanalysis and narrative research.
Her compositions often use textual material as a starting point,which is then developed into sound and structure.

Chencompleted her BA in composition at the Royal Conservatory in TheHague. She then went on to complete a Masters degree in psychology atthe Anna Freud Center/UCL in London and was awarded a distinction.She is currently completing a doctoral training in child andadolescent psychotherapy at the Tavistock Centre, London.

Chenhas written commissioned works for the Israel Contemporary Players,the Spring Competitions, VocalLab Nederland, Etty ben Zaken &Anat Pick, Soil ensemble and more. Her music was performed at variousvenues including the TheatreNatioanl De Chaillot in Paris, Gaudeamus Music Week, de Balie,Stedelijk Museum, and Suite Muziek festival.

In2008 she was awarded the Legacy Heritage Fund for her piece Di-Nur.In 2009 she was awarded the Adele and John Gray Endowment Fund forYoung Israeli Composers for her piece Broken Column.

Chencomposed original music for film, theater and dance works, includingthe collaborative work Land Research (choreography: Arkadi Zaides),which was performed among other places at the TheatreNatioanl De Chaillot, Paris, France, April 2013, andthe documentary feature 'Metamorphosis' (directed by Netalie Brown)which won the Aliza Shagrir prize for best documentary in 2006 andthe international media prize of the Society for the Study of Traumaand Dissociation.
