And, I sing.

When people hear this, they think, "Wow, she must have a studio out in LA where she records, with a producer providing music, a sound engineer editing the quality of the music, songwriter writing these amazing lyrics, and works under a legit record label." Not quite. A typical recording session for C.ma Sara involves opening up GarageBand on her 6-year-old MacBook and providing piano, guitar, and vocals on her own by using the tiny little dot on the top as her microphone in the somewhat comfort of her own home, despite occasional crying and obnoxious neighbor noises which sometimes gets picked up, not to mention I should be studying for my NCLEX right now (but hey, music is my stress ball; can't drop it when I have board exams coming up!) I don't have a personal drummer, violinist, bassist, or electric guitarist, so I create beats for these instruments on my computer (and one day, I wish I can afford the funds to be able to play these instruments on my own, or perhaps get a better software than GarageBand). And the cover art? My tiny Samsung camera, set on 10-second timers per shoot and positioned on a stool while I'm modeling against the emptiest wall of my room, is my photo studio.

As you can see, my passion for music is strong, and nothing stops me from continuing to record and produce. I'm nothing like the other aspiring artists out there who have funds or financially supportive family to help them create perhaps better-quality music, are way younger than me (I'm born in 1990), or have toured around for years, even months. I have neither a label, nor a genre. I'm not competing to be the best musician out there. All I know is that I want to keep on creating music, not for money, not for fame, but purely for the enjoyment and to tell my story. Once I have enough money after establishing a career, I plan to record even more music, collab with others, and develop my own label and help other aspiring artists' dreams come true.
