The son of a poet and a rocket scientist, Brad Hoshaw travels the country often by Greyhound bus with a flask of Scotch in his breast pocket and his vintage Gibson guitar in hand.
Hoshaw may resemble a mountain man but he has a deceptively Angelic voice; he works odd jobs in between his travels including a short stint at a 3-ring binder manufacturing plant in Omaha, NE. Every year, around the time the dragonflies hatch, he travels to a lake cabin in Wisconsin to do his writing. Forsaking most of life’s luxuries to maintain a life worth living, he wears a leather jacket that has long since faded from black to brown and $2 cowboy boots found at the local thrift store.

In recent years Brad has received praises from Dolly Parton and Frank Black (The Pixies) as well as several awards for his songwriting. His music has been featured on NPR’s “River City Folk” and “Marketplace” programs. He just released his 7th album titled “Spirit of the Lake” paying homage to the Muse which resides at his writing cabin. You can listen here:http://bradhoshaw.bandcamp.com/album/spirit-of-the-lake
