Swedish producers Hans Möller and Daniel Skaborn recorded under a variety of names during the '90s, but only gained a modicum of attention worldwide with the 2000 release of their Boulderdash debut, We Never Went to Koxut Island.
Just part of a thriving Swedish electronic scene that also includes the habitants at Dot Records, the duo began recording early in the decade after assembling their own studio with help from future labelmates Upsalians and Spinform (the latter includes Möller's brother). Aside from the techno project Mnemosyne and experimental drum'n'bass as Juicehead, Möller and Skaborn began producing tracks of complex, ambient techno inspired by early-'90s heroes from British labels Warp, R&S, and Rephlex. Finally, in 2000, the Swedish label Recordings Under Construction released the first Boulderdash album, We Never Went to Koxut Island. ~ John Bush
