The uncelebrated pop/rock group Bolero Lava formed in Vancouver, Canada, in the early '80s when hot girl rock groups in the United States were gaining notice from both the press and large numbers of energetic fans.
There were five members of Bolero Lava, all female. The band had some success with tunes like "Dance and Be Happy," "Inevitable," "Move a Groove," and "Click of the Clock," working with MoDaMu Records, and then their own label, Lava Rock. The girls performed at clubs and festivals through much of Canada, but never crossed over into other countries, nor received enough press to increase their fan base and keep them going. ~ Charlotte Dillon
