Boston-based Bodega Sónica started playing in their native Panama in the mid-'90s.
When singer/guitarist Camilo Navarro and drummer Ferrán Galindo moved to the U.S., they met Colombian bassist Pier Bove, later replaced by Johnny Morrow. The threesome recorded Mar in 1999, followed by an EP titled Caquiri-Caquiri. After Puerto Rican guitarist Wilfre Carrasquillo joined in, Bodega Sónica returned to the studio to make their second full-length record, called Radio Libre America. ~ Drago Bonacich
