Australian duo Big Scary make atmospheric, intimate pop music that combines acoustic, electric, and electronic sounds.
Formed in Melbourne in 2006, Big Scary feature Tom Iansek and Joanna Syme, who share lead vocal duties. The band recorded several EPs before releasing their debut full-length album, Vacation, in 2011. In 2013, Big Scary returned with their sophomore effort, Not Art, which won the Australian Music Prize one year later. Third album Animal became their first number one hit on the Australian charts. ~ Matt Collar
