..Welcome! Ive been Rock and Roll since I was a little boy, and would like to play for the rest of my life..
I made my first $25 for being on stage in Manhattan when I was 17 at a theatre I worked in after school dancing and singing to Rolling Stones music. I got a Standing ovation from a packed house. I taught myself Guitar, Bass and Keyboard. I played many places in New York City, most Notably CBGB And The Continental which was once one of the best places to see bands in the whole city, which it no longer is. I have been on MTV and was mentioned in a book about Hardcore.

Im a Native New Yorker from Brooklyn. I feel at home on stage and in the studio and in front of cameras and crowds. Ive made up my mind not to ever worry about playing again, Its supposed to be fun, not a pain in the ass, which is what my day job plus playing was for me also some very childish spoiled Musicians I now consider them rank amateurs for their bad attitudes.I became very discouraged because I knew what a difficult business the record business is. if I wanted money I could just get any old job..I want to make great songs that people will enjoy and to have lots of fun playing for and with others..

I had recordings on my space for many years and made many good friends here. I wrote my first song when I was 6 and began Playing Guitar when I was 16. Playing instruments is an art form to me, as I began as an artist, which I became aware of being when I was 8 so music to me became the ultimate art form because I loved it so much and It seemed so powerful. I just kind of try to keep it pure and from the heart and soul and not run of the mill or cliche. I have had many bands. I played bass in my first band which was called "Richie Rich and the Wild ones" We played a place called Trude Hellers In Manhattan On April 17, 1977. The drummer and I tried to start a band called "the Ultimates" there were many "ultimates" until I decided to go solo in 1988 when I formed a band called "Bernard Mc Dermott and The Pleasures" which lasted until 1992 The other guitar player Brian Dillon, eventually formed a band to Play my songs which I sometimes sang with the band. I generally dont like to intellectualize too much about music and art, It speaks for itself. I will say this much, Music is time, it takes time to play and appreciate. Ive had a good 44 years as a musician. When my bands and I were hot and the audience also was, it was like being the king of Rock and Roll..when we went on at 3:15 am at CBGB to no one It was maddening. As Mick Jagger once said, "Ive taken all the knocks" So I wish you peace, Love and prosperity. Cheers, Bernie..May your best dreams come true.
