BAMZIGI BIO
Born Harrison Munio, Bamzigi is a Kenyan artist, personality and visionary.

Bamzigi's music career began free-styling for kicks in clubs and making mixtapes with DJ's from his hood, credited for making the urban sound mainstream his regarded as one of the best musical treasures in Kenya. Currently he is paving the way of a new musical-fusion movement that he Created and dubbed “Mizuka Style” (EDM/Hip hop/Electro-Kapuka/Afro-pop/Afro-Beats/Trap/Dubstep/R&B/Urban/Rock/Genge/Dancehall & a lot more fused in there ).

He is a founding member of the popular group Necessary Noize that also included female MC/singer Nazizi Hirji and singer Kevin Wyre. The group was formed in October 2000 and released their self-titled debut album in 2000. This contained the hits "Clang Clang", "La Di Da", "Lovers rock” and "Nataka toa".

They steadily grew in popularity and were later to release a second album Necessary Noize II: Kenyan Gal, Kenyan Boy in 2004 which included popular regional hits such as "Kenyan Gal, Kenyan Boy" and "Bless My Room". Although mainly hip-hop based, the group has also done reggae and R&B tracks. They are appreciated for their socially conscious lyrics that deal with issues affecting youth such as AIDS, drugs and politics.

Among the solo-projects created are "The Bounce is back" album that included hits like "The Bounce", "Rusha", "Songa". In the past experience the multi-talented Bamzigi has also hosted and produced for large Radio networks such as KBC and RADIO Africa. In 2010 and after a long struggle with a drug addiction he became clean and started a fresh. 2 singles were released, “Mizuka” & “254”. He recorded a full-length album with his own label 3050 Muzik Group Studio's dubbed "Mizuka hits". The album had various producers ranging from with Wawesh, Babz on the track, Provoke & Bamzigi himself just to name a few. After that release he took a 1 year break from recording and joined the Dubspot School of music in NYC where he took a course in Music production and Music engineering, concentrating on using Logic Pro digital audio workstation and EDM (Electronic dance Music).

Although Bamzigi already knew how to produce music (Mainly Hip hop) he wanted to expand & understand the engineering side of things so as to improve his skills & learn more about other genres he's always loved like EDM.

Soon after finishing his course he decided to finally open his own studio to give his label 3050 Muzik label a home instead of renting studio's to do hid work like his been doing all his career, & is now currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. Renting out the studio to upcoming artists, film sound engineers, established recording artists, music producers and the list goes on.

Recently Bamzigi reached a breakthrough in his life though & in his music and decided to start recording music again, after recording a few songs he could sense something just didn't sit right with him and the music he was making. He had changed, matured, the Bamzigi of the past was no more & after some soul searching he final decided what was missing was the passion he once had for making his music & why it lacked from what he was making at that time was being true to himself & what gives his life purpose.

He found that passion in recording gospel and positive related music instead of his past contemporary style of music. Although a few years had passed since Bamzigi had given his life over to the Lord & accepted Jesus christ as his personal saviour he finally made the decision to switch to gospel only after he felt he was spiritually mature enough to do gospel. In fact at interviews he had been often asked why he wasn't doing gospel music if he had gotten saved & the answer was always he wasn't ready just yet.

Well the tide had changed & now that the lord had seen it fit for him to go at it full hearted with no skepticism, then the world should expect some radical Kenyan gospel music for the world starting 2018 & beyond.

Still using his unique #Mizuka sound we can guarantee that the music is going to be nothing like any other Kenyan gospel music ever released in kenya & frankly the world. All we can say is watch out world Bamzigi is back , and this time he's serving a new master our Lord and saviour Yeshua Jesus christ so expect the African Superman to blow your minds like never before with the full authority, power & humility of a soldier in the army of the Lord, Amen & God bless.
