Forming in early 2011 from a plethora of bedroom demos and vented frustration, it wasn't too long before they found their sound, a mixture of punk, rock and schizophrenia.

2011 saw As A Rival record and release a 3-track EP, 'Reminder Designer', shoot a video and play a string of shows across Victoria. Writing began almost immediately on a follow up, sharpening knives and etching their name with their explosive live show.

With new songs road tested through 2012, they headed back into the studio to begin recording a 5-track EP.

‘Concerning Trends’ sees As A Rival pushing their musical boundaries. It’s loaded with a fiery salvo of punchy drums, dirty bass and exhilarating guitars fortified with potent melodies.
