"You people here are the only people on this planet Earth that gave me support"

Dennis Rodman proved to be an unexpected guest at Pearl Jam‘s Chicago show on Saturday night.

As they played a huge homecoming show at Wrigley Field, the grunge icons were joined onstage by Rodman – who handed a ukulele to frontman Eddie Vedder.

“There are two groups of people who have always supported me”, Rodman told the crowd. “North Korea and Chicago.”

“You people here are the only people on this planet Earth [that] gave me support,” Rodman added.

“I know one thing—on the day I die, I’ll make sure I’ll be buried in Chicago.”

But any suggestion of impending mortality was quickly shut down by Vedder.

“Dennis, just put that day off as long as possible. Do me a favor, alright”, Vedder joked before launching into an acoustic rendition of ‘Sleeping By Myself’.

It’s not the first time that Dennis has joined the band either – having performed Vedder onstage at Wrigley Field in 2016.

Although they’re firm friends, he’s yet to invite Vedder to North Korea – having recently extended an invite to Kanye West.

Rodman, 57, has met the despotic leader during several visits to the secretive hermit state, with the pair bonding over a mutual love of basketball.

“Kanye, he’s doing amazing work around the world so I respect him, too”, he admitted last month.”So hopefully one day we’ll get together and collaborate on certain things. Guess what, I’ll take Kanye West to North Korea with me.”

This weekend also saw Pearl Jam perform a cover of David Bowie’s classic ‘Rebel Rebel‘.
