Could the '90s sitcom make a return in a different format?

Will Smith has shared an interesting new idea for a Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reboot.

The ’90s sitcom ran for six seasons between 1990 and 1996. In it, Smith played a Philadelphia teenager sent to live with his aunt and uncle in Bel Air.

Recently, the actor shared a cartoon version of his character, as drawn by artist Howard Russell, on his Instagram page. “Now THIS is what’s up,” he captioned the post. “I had to post this hot piece by @thesketchlab. Never thought about FP in terms of animation.”

He also shared an illustration of the main cast, also done by Russell. See both below.

Earlier this month, SNL spoofed the Fresh Prince theme song with the help of Method Man and Jessica Chastain

The sketch saw cast member Chris Redd play Will Smith‘s role, while Kenan Thompson played Uncle Phil with Leslie Jones as Smith’s mother. In it, Smith is still sent to live in Bel Air, but, this time, is followed by a gang, led by Wu-Tang Clan‘s Method Man. “Let’s go to Bel Air and kill that nerd,” Method Man screams at his gun at one point.

Guest host Chastain also starred as an apparent FBI agent who rescues Smith from the gang. Watch the spoof above.
