Ryan Reynolds recently wished Zayn Malik a happy birthday by sending him a video message which saw him don his Deadpool costume.

Ex-One Direction star Malik turned 25 last week (January 12) and shared a video message he received from Reynolds as Deadpool.

“Zayn, it’s Wade,” Reynolds/Deadpool says in the clip. “Don’t hang up… I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday, again”. 

“I also wanted to apologize for jumping out of the cake like that, I didn’t realize it was the middle of the night — I had no idea it was in the middle of your bedroom,” he jokes. “I want to thank your security who were very, very gentle and creative with the taser.”

Last year, Malik teased his second album, the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Mind of Mine’. 

“This record, I’ve kind of finalised it,” Malik said. “But there’s always ideas. Every day I find another song that I’m swapping out with another one. That’s why the album date hasn’t really come yet. Even though the album is pretty much there, and I have the material, I’m still changing things here and there. It’s not necessary in my head when I work on a song whether it’s for a new project or whether it’s for this.”
