John Oliver is headed to the Pride Lands.

EW has confirmed that the Last Week Tonight host is set to portray Zazu, the high-strung hornbill who serves as Mufasa’s loyal majordomo, in Disney’s live-action take on The Lion King.

Oliver joins a cast that includes Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Billy Eichner as Timon, and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa. The English comedian also follows in the footsteps of countryman Rowan Atkinson, who voiced Zazu in the 1994 animated movie.

Oliver’s other animated credits include two Smurfs movies and the upcoming Amusement Park.

Jon Favreau is directing The Lion King, which is expected to employ the same sort of performance-capture and computer-generated imagery as his Jungle Book to bring its animal characters to life. The new movie will also feature songs from the original.

The Lion King is scheduled to hit theaters July 19, 2019.

The Wrap first reported Oliver’s casting.
