The Atlanta band gives us a taste of their upcoming LP with the title track.

PLS PLS has been a staple in Atlanta for some time now. And now they're ready to drop their new album, Jet Black, on April 7. And with the record's upcoming release, the band has shared the title track with us, which sounds like a beautiful anthem, but is actually a little more somber.

"I've always heard that, in life," PLS PLS frontman Dan Dixon tells Myspace, "there are people who give you energy and people who steal your energy. 'Jet Black is about the latter.'"

And while the pulsating track has a bittersweet tone, there's a lot of different influences at play in it.

"There are some obvious nods to Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine in the guitar sounds," Dixon explains, "while the main pulsing synth sound was originally meant to sound like Santigold or M.I.A.. And then, I’m trying to sing it like Peter Gabriel. It's likely we missed the mark on all those things, but then, that’s what makes it ours."

You can pre-order vinyl copies of Jet Black here now. And hear the song below.
