Industrial singer-songwriter powers through love and loss in new single, 'Feathers Falling.'

British singer-songwriter and producer Amani wrote her latest single, “Feathers Falling,” as a way of dealing with her sister’s suicide. Now out on her own label 2NOR, it’s the lead single from her forthcoming EP Perpendicular. The emotional soundscapes are dark and stunning at the same time; it’s a literal capture of her loss, as she sings, “Trying to stay strong is just a false disguise. What I’d give to have another day by your side, turn back the hand of time.”

Amani worked with producer David Ezra on her new EP and often collaborates with creatives in the fields of design and fashion. (Her label, 2NOR, was created to forge her love of art and music together.) Perpendicular will be revealed via various art galleries, with whom she has partnered with to showcase her upcoming works. Through her music, Amani wants people to “have an understanding of exposed nerve endings.”

She talks to Myspace about love, loss, and fun in her music. Hop to the next page to read the full interview
