On her single 'Push Back,' the native Angeleno asks to be challenged.
Alina Bea’s big goal for 2017 is one that every musician can relate to: “To make a great record!” Currently working on her first full-length, the native Angeleno — whose name is mostly all her own (“My middle name is Beatrice, my last name is Cutrono”), describes her music as pop songs with experimental instrumentation. “Progressive pop, à la Bjork and Kate Bush,” she adds.
Quirky pop was the name of the game for her debut EP Live Undone, which delved on a broken heart (Alina's) and a break up (of her band Body Parts).
Her single “Push Back” is what came about after she got over it all; “[It’s] about is about needing to be challenged in a relationship,” she says. “It questions the validity of complete harmony and suggests that only through opposition can you really learn and grow with another person. Confrontation is necessary sometimes.”
