The Queens of the Stone Age frontman has provided the soundtrack for the upcoming German cinematic thriller
Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has shared his soundtrack for the new film In The Fade – listen to Homme’s score for the movie below.
Homme became attached to the film after its director, Fatih Akin, sent him an early version of In The Fade for his consideration. “He immediately called back saying he loved it and was blown away and that he would like to put his hands on it,” Akin revealed back in May. “We phoned maybe four or five times, sent 10 emails back and forth and then I had the music. It was a very uncomplicated, fast and very clean process of working.”
After premiering at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, In The Fade – which has been described as a ‘neo-Nazi revenge film’ as it tells the story of a woman who seeks revenge on a neo-Nazi group after they murder her husband and son – will be released next month (with the date December 27 confirmed for US cinemas).
Ahead of its wide release, Homme’s score for In The Fade has now been released on major streaming platforms, with a physical release due in December. Homme was joined by fellow QOTSA members Michael Shuman and Troy Van Leeuwen for the recording of the soundtrack.
