The pop punk quartet unleashes all it has on latest track.

Summer Wars may have only been playing since late 2015; however, the North Carolina pop punk band prove thats that it can rock the stage as hard as the vets. On the latest single, "Tear Me Down," the quartet brings energetic instrumentals paired with sad lyrics.

"For 'Tear Me Down,' we just wanted a high energy song that told a story about a relationship that had run its course," guitarist and singer Tripp Rowe tells Myspace. "Stylistically the song alternates between big halftime parts in the choruses, and faster moving verses."

He adds, "I've always loved the juxtaposition of catchy high energy songs with more pessimistic lyrics, so I think this ended up being one of more diverse songs."

"Tear Me Down" is off Summer Wars' upcoming EP, split, which releases on January 20. Hear to the track below.
