From Kendrick to Chance, Dr. Martin Luther King's message lives on through rap lyrics.

(Old) Kanye West

Regardless of whatever's going on in Kanye West's head over the last several months, it's hard to see an artist who was once effectively the standard for speaking his mind on social and racial issues befriend the man who many consider the primary enemy of racial equality. With that said, Kanye spent years as one of the most outspoken proponents of social justice and equality, all while releasing some of the best rap music ever created. It seems like we're a world away from the "George Bush doesn't care about black people" Kanye, but here's hoping he's still in there beneath the blonde-haired Trump-loving Kanye Kardashian we've seen as of late.

YG

Alright, so YG is probably more Malcolm X than he is MLK, but there's no denying that he was arguably the most prolific political rapper in 2016. Would Dr. King approve of "FDT"? Maybe, but we're sure he'd be all for uniting the country's two most notorious gangs against political injustices.
