Soulful singer-songwriter is the latest in a long line of talented Swedish musical exports.

A longtime hotbed of musical talent, Sweden’s impact on the current American music scene can be heard just by turning on the radio, with acts like Tove Lo, Avicii, and Zara Larsson ruling the airwaves. The country’s latest musical export is soulful singer-songwriter Buster Moe.

Moe’s debut EP, titled Good Kinda Crazy, is due out September 23 via PRMD Music. It comes on the heels of a highly successful alternative take on the Cypress Hill classic “Insane In The Brain,” his version of which garnered more than 1.5 million streams on Spotify.

Wanting to follow that up with his original work, Moe recently released the single, “Down,” and Myspace has the exclusive premiere of the live acoustic video for the song.

Impressed by “Down,” we caught up with Moe to find out more about his upcoming EP, and the potential for bumping into pop royalty in his hometown.

"Down" is off of your upcoming EP, Good Kinda Crazy. Give us a story about one of your favorite experiences with someone who's the good kinda crazy.

Ha ha! Which story to pick of all the crazy ones?! Actually, this one happened last weekend.

I was entering a nightclub with some friends in Stockholm. As soon as you get into the club there’s a stand where they give out free condoms. All of us might have grabbed maybe two condoms, and then sneaked away while one of my friends just completely filled her purse with all of these different condoms. There must have been like 200 condoms in her purse!

That’s a lot of condoms! In terms of the music of Good Kinda Crazy, how representative is "Down" of the rest of the EP?

I would say that "Down" is more of the wild card for the EP. It's more rough, and hard, than the other songs. The last two songs for the EP are acoustic, and ballad-like.

You're from Stockholm, and we all know Sweden is a haven for great musicians. Do you just randomly bump into Tove Lo, or Avicii, in the supermarket?

Ha ha! (It’s) true, there are a lot of great musicians in this town. Even though I wish I had bumped into Tove Lo, or Avicii, in the supermarket, I haven't yet, but you're right, especially if you're out enjoying the nightlife, there’s a big chance you will bump into several amazing artists. A while back I bumped into the lead singer of Bo Kaspers Orkester, which is an awesome Swedish band.
