Ian McKellen has been known for many notable roles, but many know him for his portrayal of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings films. This role is so iconic that Sean Parker, the guy behind the file-sharing service, Napster, and first president of Facebook, wanted the actor to officiate his wedding. But he had to be dressed up as Gandalf while doing it.

Although it would be pretty epic to see him do it, Ian did pass on that request back in 2013.

"I was offered $1.5 million to marry a very famous couple in California, which I would perhaps have considered doing but I had to go dressed as Gandalf," he told The Daily Mail.

He continued, "So I said, 'I'm sorry, Gandalf doesn't do weddings."

So the moral of this story is -- if you want Ian McKellan to officiate your wedding, you can tell him to leave the staff, hat and beard at home.
