The electropop duo is ready to punch their way back to our hearts!

It’s pretty magical how a change of environment can affect a band’s sound. Take Hank & Cupcakes’ comeback single “Kiss Your Face” for instant—their first release since 2014’s second LP Cash For Gold and their move from hipster heaven Williamsburg to Atlanta.  The song is probably the rockiest effort Tel Aviv transplants/the coolest couple on the indie scene Sagit and Ariel ever released.

“It's the first song I wrote for the album and I think it set the mood of a very high energy, explosive kind of sound,” Sagit explains. “For the video we went with a simple slideshow / animation based on the Cheap Thrill album cover, which was designed by internationally acclaimed Mexican artist Claudio Limon. The image of the cover is deliberately very gender blurry and set in a religious looking background. The idea came to us during our work on the album while many laws discriminating against LGBT community and women's rights have been (and still are) trying to get passed in the US in the name of 'Freedom of Religion.' We wanted to comment on the absurdity and misuse of religion as a tool of discrimination.”

To find out what other important social issues the duo is going to cover on their new record, we’ll have to wait until July 1st, when Cheap Thrill hits online retailers. But something tells us it’s most likely going to be a thrill.
