The Dapper Day Expo is a convention that celebrates “stepping out in style.” Though not associated with Disney directly, they hop around the world to various Disney parks such as Paris, Epcot and, with this weekend, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. The free expo features shops and boutiques that can easily fill up your closet with some of the most refined and classic looks, many with a Disney spin. To top off the weekend, people dressed to the nines flooded both parks in their most classy outfits for Dapper Day at Disneyland. We picked off a few people and asked them some questions about this classy day.

Rian

What makes a person dapper? Whatever makes them feel good.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? Prince Naveen.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? I think I’ve been here near 40 times.
Where did you get your outfit from? I made it myself!
Why do you like Dapper Day? I get to hang out with all my friends.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? I think it’s a 3-way tie between Pirates, Indy or the Haunted Mansion. It changes but right now it’s Pirates.

Law

What makes a person dapper? When you dress classy AF (as fuck).
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? Captain America, Steve Rogers! Because that counts now.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? About a dozen.
Where did you get your outfit from? Through a mixture of thrift stores finds and Jo-Ann Fabrics.
Why do you like Dapper Day? I think it’s fun that everyone wants to dress and look cute.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ever since they updated it.

Alex

What makes a person dapper? Being dressed classy and feeling good about you outfit.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? Obviously The Dapper Dans.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? Probably seven.
Where did you get your outfit from? I made my own ears, but I bought my dress from Amazon.
Why do you like Dapper Day? It gives me an excuse to make crazy outfits I’d normally get weird looks for wearing.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? Space Mountain!

What makes a person dapper? Class. Simply class.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? It’s gotta be Tony Stark.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? Around eight times.
Where did you get your outfit from? My closet. These are my normal man clothes, that all men must own.
Why do you like Dapper Day? I’m contractually obligated to like Dapper Day (by my girlfriend), also because I like Disneyland in general.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. That needs to get out there and seen by more people.

What makes a person dapper? A fancy classy vintage feel.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? Doctor Facilier.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? It’s my second time this year.
Where did you get your outfit from? My friend made it for me.
Why do you like Dapper Day? I love the creativity and outfits. It’s all so amazing.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? I’m going with Tower of Terror!

What makes a person dapper? It’s all about the attitude THEN clothing.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? It’s all about Mickey.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? Oh wow. I think this might be my first time this year.
Where did you get your outfit from? I’ve owned this suit for about 10 years, but I haven’t been able to fit into it for the last two. I wanted to finally go out somewhere to wear it and today was perfect.
Why do you like Dapper Day? It’s fantastic to see everyone dressed up and looking incredible.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? Indy!

What makes a person dapper? Someone who presents themselves at their best with high spirits. This looks different for everyone, but if you look good and feel good, you’re dapper in my book. 
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? I always felt the Mr. Toad was an awfully dapper gent. 
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? This year? Sheesh. Maybe 15 times? 18? I have a problem. 
Where did you get your outfit from? My outfit is a combination of being hand made (I drew the pattern myself on the custom made vest from Elhoffer Design), and hand picked... From Amazon.com. 
Why do you like Dapper Day? It’s a day where Disneyland goes deeper down the rabbit hole. People get a bit more creative with their outfits, step into another place and time, and just hang out in a very fun and positive environment with other enthusiasts. I love how special that is. 
What’s your favorite Disney ride? Haunted Mansion.

What makes a person dapper? The clothes of course. But it’s also attitude.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? I’m going with Jane or Alice.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? At least 30!
Where did you get your outfit from? I made this myself!
Why do you like Dapper Day? How everyone is so nice and welcoming. That guard you have up normally goes away and you can talk to anyone in costume and take photos of them.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? The Alice in Wonderland ride!

What makes a person dapper? It’s not specifically being vintage, but going above and beyond and adding your stylized twist to your wardrobe.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? Flapper Minnie! Have you seen her?!
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? I live up north so not so much. Probably around 15 times.
Where did you get your outfit from? I made this myself because I’m crazy!
Why do you like Dapper Day? I love meeting all the new people and everyone is so friendly!
What’s your favorite Disney ride? TEACUPS!

What makes a person dapper? Period correctness and whatever fits the theme
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? Not gonna lie, Zootopia left an impression on me, and I’m going with Judy Hopps.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? Around 10 times maybe? I try to go once or twice a month.
Where did you get your outfit from? I got it from a World War II store in Torrance that sells authentic uniforms.
Why do you like Dapper Day? I love seeing people wear the nice outfits that fit the theme and time.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? Probably the Cars ride.

Amber

What makes a person dapper? The very stylistic coordinate outfits from any part of fashion history. Anything with a vintage, pin-up flare.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? It’s have to be Mickey. He’s very dapper.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? I cannot count. I believe maybe 25 times.
Where did you get your outfit from? I made my skirt and top, altered my bodice and I made my hat to match the outfit. I’m supposed to be a honey pot, inspired by Winnie the Pooh.
Why do you like Dapper Day? I’ve loved Dapper Day for several years. I studied fashion history, and sewing and doing pin-up and doing hair and makeup then one day went to Disneyland saw Dapper Day and flipped and said “This is my calling!” It’s my way of thriving my love for pin-up and vintage with a Disney touch.
What’s your favorite Disney ride? Honestly, it’d have to be the Storybook Ride, then Star Tours then Space Mountain.

What makes a person dapper? The way they carry themselves.
Who do you think is the most dapper Disney character? Captain Hook, duh. He’s swag incarnate.
How many times have you been to Disneyland this year? I used to work here, but everyday I wasn’t working, I was here. Not work times, I’d say a solid 70.
Where did you get your outfit from? All made from thrift store finds and things laying around my house!
Why do you like Dapper Day? I get to see my friends from all over the world and get to hang out with them for fun reasons!
What’s your favorite Disney ride? It’s gotta be Pirates of the Caribbean.
